Duracell Golf Cart Batteries

Friends....the two 12 volt Interstate batteries in my Class C are about ready to die from old age. I am considering replacing them with a pair of Duracell GC2 6 volt golf cart batteries sold by Sam's Club. I will appreciate any comments about these particular batteries (good or bad). Many thanks.
  • +2 for AGM replacement technology, you get what you pay for!

When I bought the MH it had 2 12v batteries that did not hold a charge. I replaced them with 2 6v Trojans that only lasted 4 years. Had to modify the storage area as Desert Captain said but well worth it. I replaced the Trojans with the 6 v GC batteries from Sams Club, they are 7 years old and still going strong. 95% of the camping I do is dry camping. I would buy these again as they are in the $80 range. Maintenance is key to extending the life of these batteries.
  • I have 12v Duracell agm's in two vehicles, and 2 Duracell 12v agm deep cycle batteries in our camper. Purchased all at sams club. No problems with any of them, love them.
  • We have 4 6v Duracells from Sam's Club, doing quite well, very happy with them after 4 years.
  • I believe Sam's has two... a lower cost 208 Ah and a higher capacity 232 Ah.
I would spend the extra and get the higher capacity.
  • The golf carts will be taller. Do you have enough clearance to be able to top them up, check with a hydrometer and do the routine corrosion maintenance (measure twice, buy once).

I am on the fence on going from my two group 27's (that are getting tired), to a pair of golf carts but these are the issues I am weighing (so to speak). If it is not easy to properly maintain them most folks won't and that gets expensive down the road. Let us know what you decide.
