"PSUJIM85"...You're getting some bad info. Newmar has been selling the Dutch Star with a full wall slide for several years. If you look at most coaches, the slide edges have a lip on them that when the slide is closed, the lip covers the opening. Newmar does not use that lip so you see the opening, since it's visible (called reveal) it needs to have tighter tolerances. In 2014 and 2015, people were having some issues if they didn't get the coach level before opening the FWS, it would catch in the corner. At that time, it was recommended that you check the "reveal" before opening the slide. I've had mine for two years and never had an issue.
In 2016, Newmar introduced their "Star" chassis that added another 3000 pounds to the coach. It included a reinforced frame and tile on the FWS floor. The slide goes all the way out and then down.
With the weight increase, they ended up with a front axle that had very little capacity left, or slightly over, especially on the 43' coaches. Newmar was very responsive. Anyone with a 2016 43' will receive a free upgrade to a heavier axle. For 2017, they changed to new 17K axle. If you had a shorter Dutch Star, like a 40', I believe they are changing the air bags and the front rims for free on the 2016's.
The 2017's are also coming with a better paint job.
