I picked up a 2007 Fleetwood Tioga 29V, E450 6.8L a couple months ago and did it's first oil change this past weekend. I had quite an ordeal with the oil filter because the FL-820S listed in the books did not fit. It had a no-name Mighty M500 oil filter which no one was able to cross reference. After quite a bit of Google searching I found it cross references to a FL-500S or FL-2055.
Any idea why this is using an odd filter? This filter is used on the Ford Mustang, Edge, Fusion, Taurus, F150-350, Escape and Flex. Although it fits, I'm concerned because it is a much smaller filter than the FL-820S listed in the books.
Ford used the same filter on just about all of their models for many years (Fram PH1 or equivalent). Then in 2001 I found that I had an odd ball filter on my 2000 F150.
I don't know if the PH1 would fit your E450, but it seemed like big filter on the 2.3l 4 cylinder in the Mustang.
I know Fram used to have cross list that would give you the stats of a given filter. Size of thread, pressure relief, gasket size, etc. Guys used it to find automotive filters to fit their bikes and quads, because they could get filters at half the price of the specialty filters.
You may be able to find a bigger filter using the Fram list. If that doesn't get you a filter you are comfortable with, you could put a remote kit on and a larger filter hanging off the frame rail.
