Why didn't the FL820S fit? Threads? Gasket? Position? Interference?
I just don't get it. On our 2002 E450/V10, the 820 mounts straight up from the bottom in the open.
In fact, I don't understand the emphasis on the silicone anti-drain-back valve. The filter sits there gasket surface up, like an open bucket. Oil has no place to drain from the filter into. Filter's the lowest point of the system.
The FL820S is used on my 2004 F150, it sits sideways and is really hard to get on and off so the silicone anti drain feature may not be needed on the Ford V10 but it is on other motors.
