- mlts22ExplorerThey have a good thing going. I wonder if they might be best served by going with the standard dealership route or perhaps the route that Nexus RV and Lazy Days take and go factory-direct.
I can see them getting a cult following, similar to Westies, but without a good sales and distribution network, I don't think they will be able to hang on for long.
I do wish they would toss the composter and go with a cassette toilet, just because one can take a cassette toilet almost anywhere and dump it, but the composter would require having some peat moss on hand to toss in, and it is relatively a lot more work than just yanking out a cartridge, or pulling out a slinky, hooking it up, and yanking a valve.
I do notice they have a four gallon water heater like the Travato. Not sure if it is the electric-only one, propane, or both. - My_RoadtrekExplorerI don't think there is any way a 2500 watt gen-set will start a 13,500 BTU AC. Because of the start up power a 3000 watt gen-set will be needed, or maybe the newer Yami 2800.
You can figure pretty close to the size generator needed by doubling the BTU's - bobojay5ExplorerI'm answering my own question. $79,500. retail. They are using owners that want to, to sell the units it looks like. About a $9500. commission if sold at full retail.
The cabinetry looks kind of so-so, but the floor plan is nice.
Reminds me of the Daewoo cars fiasco when they tried to move into North America. Their sales setup was somewhat like this. Didn't work. - mlts22ExplorerThis appears to be a close translation of a European campervan design except using 120 volts, and with the addition of a gasoline generator and overhead A/C unit.
So far, here is what I see:
I recognize the toilet. It is a Nature's Head composting toilet. Liquid goes in a bottle, solids go into a container with peat moss. Solids can go in a trash bag when the toilet is 3/4 full and thrown away just like dog waste bags. It needs no water to work. Strange design, but its main advantage is that it can be used regardless if the rig is winterized or not.
So far, this is an exact translation of a European campervan, except with the addition of a gasoline fueled generator and A/C unit. The A/C unit is definitely Texas grade, at 13,500 BTUs, and the generator is 2500 watts, which is good enough for the A/C.
I'm going to send info and keep an eye on this unit. Because they didn't go with the conventional black water tank, they could use a truly European floorplan as opposed to the oddball one as in the Travato. - bobojay5ExplorerLike this floorplan better than the Travato. Wonder how much??
