How would I know it's the motor that is bad? It looks like when under load the gear just spins and will not lock in position.
We actually got the part number for ours from IRV2 - take a look at the link above. I can't remember who told us but we ordered what they told us and that is the one I posted the link for on Amazon.
Your description of your problem sounds a lot like how ours started. Eventually the steps would not go in or out at all although the motor would keep running making a really loud noise.
