  • according to the Dometic spec sheet, your fridge draws a maximum of 190W at 230V
A 500W 110/230 step up transformer is an inexpensive (<$50) alternative to replacing the fridge:

There is no question but that the model number you have cited is designed for 230V (which you have already figured out): Dometic RM 7651 L
  • the refrigerator wiring and the heating unit should be changed. so that the refer will work properly in north america..
  • yep very poor cooling on ac. I just asked dometic to verify that it is a 230v frig.
  • Canadian power is the same as ours; otherwise it would be a real nuisance sharing power on the continent. Since the fridge uses 12V for all its controls the only thing that should be affected is the heater when you are using AC. I would guess that the cooling capability on AC might be poor. Is this the case?
