Sorry, trying to figure this all out. Our 5er was simple compared to all this and it had a handy 100 watt solar panel to keep the batteries charged in storage.
It's a new to us Tiffin bus and our first motorhome. There's lots of information which the prior owner left that I've been digesting.
The rig was fully charged before putting into storage. And it was the house batteries which were dead after 5 weeks probably due to parasite draw even though we used the disconnect at the door. The rig started fine - but the front auto shade refused to go up due to the house battery issue. We do understand the charger/inverter system as our Alpenlite had exactly the same system. But honestly, we never used the inverter all that much because it drained the batteries so quickly. So, we just hooked up a little honda for power needs.
Most of my questions are related to understanding the system. We will never have power in storage and the rig could be there for a month at a time. If we need to visit the rig and run the generator every few weeks, that's okay. If it takes both the engine and generator to top off the chasse batteries... that's what we'll do.
When we go to Q in a week, it will be our first boondocking experience.
