Electrical Gremlins
Here's a troubleshooting conundrum, from three seemingly unrelated issues occurring with our 20111 Itasca Sunova on the Ford F-53 chassis.
One day the power to one of the slide rooms went totally dead as we tried to retract it. We turned off the engine and turned the battery disconnect switch off then back on, and that solved the problem.
Another day the electric step retracted on its own with the door open and the engine running. I shut down the engine then restarted and the step worked O.K. again.
Then the other day I noticed that the daytime running lights, which normally are on only when the transmission is in drive, were on while the coach was sitting and the transmission in park. Again, an engine restart restored normalcy.
So I'm beginning to think that they are all connected, as if maybe the slide room, the step, and the daytime running lights all "thought" the transmission was in drive, when in fact it was in park.
Is there some kind of switch or electrical connector that tells the slide room, step and daytime running lights (and maybe other systems as well) when the transmission is in park vs. drive?
