Well yes that sounds logical but..............
The charging system in question is, presumably, designed to do just that.
And unless your batteries are in a small enclosed compartment without any ventilation, removal is NOT necessary. Hopefully enough ventilation was provided in the design and the amount of hydrogen produced is tiny except at VERY high charging rates.
