Electrical questions 1983 Honey (LONG)

I plan on cheating with the lighting lol. I have spent more money on the repairs to the roof and now the whole inside that I don't have the funds to purchase a bunch of light fixtures and things. And I need to have the walls and things up by the end of the month (as well as the cupboards built and installed) so I'm actually just going to buy the battery powered lights and use velcro to place them under the cupboards and on my little kitchen area.
