Electrical system kit for a home built trailer

Question

Hello all I’m new thanks for having me. I’m looking for advice or links or what ever for an electrical system that includes solar, batteries, auxiliary power such as a hook up or generator panels for both 12 and 120 volt power for a small trailer I’m in the process of building. Either a complete system or one I can part together works, any help is appreciated thank you very much.

Start with a main electric panel. Do you expect to be a 50 amp or 30 amp RV?

Are you going big on solar and battery? Solar is usually separate with panels to the controller and controller direct on the battery. About 100 watts solar for 100 amp/hr battery is a good starting point.

There is a website called faroutride.com - the couple built an off-road, off-grid converted Transit Van.  They are both engineers, so their build journal is very detailed, and I know they included a LOT of solar/electrical information.  I'm sure you could transfer that info to your trailer build.
