Emergency Escape - What to Do??

We have had 3 other rigs before the one in our Sig below.
I have NEVER been concerned about emergency escape - except I now know that in the event of a fire happening while we are asleep, the smoke/fire/co2 alarm will alert us when there is a problem.

BUT...if we are in the bed down the back and the fire is in the mid-kitchen (seems most fires are fridge or stove related), how do you get out?? The answer is in the bedroom window that is easily opened with two levers and drops out - when you push it!

OK - what now?? Have you tried to get out of the rig via that window?? Most likely not! And if you did, how far is it to the ground?? On my rig it is about six feet - too far to step and too difficult to get to the ground (DW is 5'1").

Jump to the ground?? the window is too small to be able to jump!!

I'm trying to figure out a safe and easy way to exit the rig bedroom in an emergency. Other than cutting into the side and putting in a door (Yes, I have seen MoHo's with a bedroom door) what are your thoughts and plans??? (Other than pretending it will never happen to you)

All replies are appreciated!!

Very good post glad I read.
    Will check out our MH.
Hope this is not thread hyjacking but wife and I had a discussion about how to get out if crash and MH was on its side preventing exit through door, so I decided I am going to keep a small sledge hammer in cockpit area to break out front window if necessary.

You might not need that sledge hammer!
