We were in similar situation in '09. Daughter had moved off to college and son was junior in high school. So, we were almost empty nesters. We had a 5'er that I would tow and DW would tow boat with our Durango. In previous years we would have 2 or 3 kids with each of us. That summer, we found ourselves in vehicle alone once or twice. So, we traded 5'er/truck for our MH. The kids have still camped with us maybe 20% of the time so we went with a larger class C. Now, we are thinking of downsizing to a 22' - 24' in a year or two.
I think the 5'er was perfect when kids (and friends) camped with us...now, the MH is perfect :)
