Many town parks have a dump site, plus just about all Pilot/Flying J truck stops have them.

Where I've been in the East and South east that would be "a few" rather than "just about all".

The few times I've had to pay for a dump, it was $10.

Water conservation can help a lot too.

Most folks look for Flying-J truck stops or some other truck stops that have dump stations. Sometimes, some campgrounds provide a dumping only service. And some states have dump stations at rest areas for public use. Finding these locations is the trick.

I don't know how reliable this web site is, but I checked the area where I live, and pretty good for those locations I'm sure of. Enter your location and then zoom in on the map: Click here.

There may be some exceptions but all the commercial RV parks, State and Federal campgrounds that have a dump station, will allow you to dump for a fee. Most of the rest area free dump stations in NM are "Closed for Maintenance" and have been for years.

You can call your local sewer plant and ask them where to dump and there is always the local septic service that will empty your tank for a fee also.

Dutchman's link is handy, but I have to warn you that it may be correct as to the presence of a dump, but the location accuracy is lacking.
RV Dump Sites is a valuable resource, but be prepared to hunt up the actual location and don't be afraid to ask a native guide. These things are good at hiding.

Many, probably most, RV dealers have a dump station. It sometimes may not be available for public use, but if they're taking in used RVs to sell or otherwise doing repair work they're going to need to dump tanks from time to time The local dealer near me (Pete's RV) offers free dumping. It certainly would not hurt to enquire at one if you need to dump.

Sometimes it's not much more expensive, or even less expensive, to camp and dump than it is to pay a dump fee. This is always true at Vermont state parks if your RV is over 30 feet long; dump fee is $30, and camp sites range from $18 to $22 depending if it's a prime site or not and if you're a resident or not.

If you have a sewer clean-out at your house in a convenient location, you have your own personal dump station.

If you are a member of Good Sam, a lot of Camping World have dump stations
