EMS breaker on a 99 Adventerur continued

What I have learned so far...
1.) there is no EMS breaker.
2.) All batteries are fully charged.
3.) The retractable steps will not work.
4.) There is no electricity to the driver's controls.
5.) Generator starts & runs fine with the shore power unplugged.
6.) All breakers appear to be good.
7.) I am electrically inept, I have trouble getting the train to run around the Christmas tree....

Any ideas on what's happening with the coach?

  • Do you have a Aux power switch near the door or overhead near door that's turns 12v off. trying reseting it.
  • My EMS is installed in the electrical panel and is fused with a 12V automotive type fuse. I pulled the fuse, checked it and replaced it on one occasion when having a problem with the EMS and it reset the breakers for the EMS and all has been well since.

Google online for instructions for your application.
  • Does the engine start ok? Or is that what you mean by the drivers's controls being dead?

You have three batteries under the step, correct? All 3 are 12.6 volts (or close)?
  • Sounds like a open fuse or DC breaker or open wire from the chassis battery to the driver controls including the ground side. You could wiggle/move all wires and see if that helps.

From your post I'd guess the next step is to call for help.
  • Hi,

    Check the ground connections.

Breakers are often only for 120 volt AC systems.

Do the 12 volt systems in the "house" work?
