I tow an enclosed car trailer behind my DP regularly. I think the key issue to consider is overall length of motor home and trailer especially at campgrounds en route and when you arrive at your destination. Remember, 24 ft or 28 ft is just the box length. You have to add another 3-5 feet for the tongue. During my travels, its a challenge to find a single back-in or pull-through camp site where I can fit with the trailer attached to the motor home. In some cases, I have to drop the trailer for the night and park it in a separate area from the motor home. I think the shorter trailer will give you more options. Good luck.
