I have a TRIK-L-Start that I use when parked for a few weeks or months plugged into shore power. (snowbirding, for instance). Works great...then.
However, when in storage (for a few months) I disconnect it. Reason? The TRIK-L-START "cannibalizes" power from my 2 6V batteries into the 12V starter battery. If (when) the 2 6V batteries are discharged enough, ALL THREE batteries are "dead"...then the jumper cables come out.
just my 2 cents.
I don't know about the Trick-L-Start, but the Xantrex Echo Charger will only charge the chassis batteries when the chassis batteries are 0.5 to 1.0 volts less than the house batteries BUT only turns on when the house batteries are at 13.0 volts or higher. In other words, it will not draw the house batteries down below 13.0v to charge the chassis batteries.
