I just had the same overheating problem traveling up I-17 from Phoenix to Flagstaff. I have a Cummins 8.9L 400hp and brought my HM to Cummins in Las Vegas they diagnosed the problem to a clogged radiator, however, they said they don't do radiators (see my post on Cummins). I then brought my MH to Freightliner and they said the same it is a clogged radiator and they will work on it. They will have to remove the radiator and have it cleaned. My engine didn't overheat before just on that steep upgrade on I-17 and the outside temp was 104 and I did have the A/C turned off and downshifted to 3rd gear. Make sure the Cummins Service center will work on your radiator before you bring it there as they will charge you for the diagnoses but not fix the problem. One thing I found out about my Cummins engine is that there is a filter in the cooling system so that could be clogged as well. Good Luck and hope you get your problem solved.
