Okay, I just got back from Henderson Kentucky from working on the motorhome. The nice people at Ellis Park will allow my to park it there for another 2 weeks. Here is what I found. There is no idler pulley, you put tension on the belt by swing the alternator to the right which increases the tension. I put the belt back on (it was off and scuffed really bad) I put it back on and was able to start the motorhome. the generator was able to turn over and so was the engine. it started and the voltage was at charge voltage. then I moved it to where they said I could leave it at. I shut down the engine. the pulley on the alternator was so hot it almost burned my hand. the rest of the pulleys were cool. I now know I have an issue with the alternator. I took the batteries off the system and still was very hot to the touch. The alternator spins freely with the belt off. must be a bad alternator. The seller did short a wire out to the positive lug on the battery before I drove away. I hope he didn't short out something.
