The only thing I would add to Scott's descriptive post is that TPO is a thermoplastic material and has less elongation and resists tearing better than EPDM. Having said that I have an 18 year old roof that I coated in 2006 with Cool Seal that someone gave me. It is now wearing off. Secondly I camp a lot in NFS campgrounds and back into tree limbs and branches and have never torn the rubber roof ( I have crushed the fins on my A/C and some plastic covers). So I would not let the roof be a show stopper if you like the M/H. As another data point my friend has an 18 year old Bounder and the white coating has entirely worn off and is black. It still does not leak but I think a white coating every 7-10 years would keep it cooler inside and looking nice.
