European motorhome

We live in Spain and are considering shipping our Hymer A-class motorhome to the US so we can spend a few months touring - without racking up a huge rental bill.
I wonder if anyone can advise whether it is feasible to do this and then sell the vehicle before leaving the country, rather than ship it back to Spain.
It is a left-hand drive, 20 foot long van based on a Fiat Ducato chassis, with a 2.8 JTD engine. This is the most popular and reliable base vehicle for motorhomes in Europe.

Any advice or suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks in anticipation.
  • The Hymer might be considered a little small for the American market.
Perhaps it would be better to purchase a used RV in the USA and then sell it in the USA when you are done.
  • The other day I met two young ladies from Belgium who shipped their motorhome here for a six month vacation. They said it was cheaper than renting a motorhome here. We have also met people from Germany and Sweden who shipped their motorhome here. Obviously the best thing to do is get the prices and compare for yourself. Personally, I would rather have my own instead of a rental. Whatever you do I hope you enjoy and I say "welcome to America", we have lots to see and do.
