Excited!!!!

DW and I are heading out tomorrow for our 2nd winter of traveling. We are like two little kids in a candy store for the first time.
We will be gone for 6 months just wandering our beautiful country. As usual we don't have any real solid plans of where we will be going. We do know that we will be working our way to Savannah for a start as we have never visited the area before then spending Christmas in Fla with other relatives and our DD will be flying in to join us for a week or so. Our son is in the Navy and is out of the country and won't be able to be with us for Christmas, We will miss him very much:( After that we'll be heading west. We tend to gravitate to areas for hiking and biking so I'm sure Big Bend is in our future somewhere this winter, as well as Arizona. It really doesn't matter as long as we are together enjoying each other that is all that counts. Together we love traveling and we love our motorhome. Looking for another winter of building great memories.
i hope everyone has safe travels and a great winter!!

Dave
  • I'm not envious or jealous. :M

Be safe and enjoy your travels.
  • So happy for yo both. Please drop s a post and a picture or two.
  • While in Savannah visit the Old Savannah theater. They have two different shows and when you purchase a ticket and if you want to see the other show, the cost is 1/2 the price.

    You won't be sorry
  • The good news is that you can't go wrong. Go where you please and if you didn't like that choice, make another! Go as often as you like and stay as long as you please. It really doesn't get any better than that!
  • Nothing quite like heading out at the start of a long journey... And we still are for sure rookies at the longer trips, just finishing our third trip of 4 months - so just as exciting to us!

My friend thinks I'm crazy, because we're expecting high 20's this week, on our last week of the trip. We've gone from above 105 in Spark's NV for Forth of July, to a low so far of 27 in the Tetons... With heavy rains, and humidity in between...

Go have a blast, and travel safe:)!

  • Best wishes for safe travels. DW and I are going to do some similar winter wandering right after Christmas. This will be our first post retirement winter trip. We also have no firm plans except to stay in warmer places as much as we can.... get to the gulf coast then head West into Texas, NM and AZ. We hope to stay on the road for at least 3 months.
  • We are day 2 of our first big adventure. Headed for Lake Worth Fl. for Thanksgiving with my brother's family, then up to Canaveral to try to catch a launch. The only hard plans after that are the Villages in January. We know the feeling. We look at each other every morning and smile! We've been talking about this for 20 years. Eventually headed up to the Panhandle, then follow the Gulf Coast, maybe RGV and the desert SW. Doubling back early spring to visit my daughter in KC and home to Cape Cod in May.
