Experience Switching from Michelin XRV to XZE

Any experience switching from Michelin XRV to XZE?

Was there a noticeable difference in the ride being more stiff/hard, road noise, squirm, handling of the MH, etc. with the XZE's?

Our MH tire size: 255/80R22.5

Tread depth
XRV: 16/32
XZE: 20/32

RPM
XRV: 540
XZE: 538

Tire Weight
XRV: 89.5 lbs
XZE: 96.6 lbs

I should have mentioned that my 5 year old Michelin's are showing some signs of age with minor cracking and checking. I am going to replace the steer tires with new ones and move the steer to the tag axle where the tires wear out about twice as fast as the other positions. I should be good for another 5 years with Michelin despite the made up 7 year rule.

10 year. Have inspected after 7. Been averaging 8 years on my XRV's

  • When we needed new tires a few years ago the XRV line was back-ordered and our dealer suggested the XZE line as a replacement. I could tell no difference in the ride between the 2 and the XZE tires seem to be doing well so far.

I have 12R 22.5 XZE on my 1988 Prevost and they are the best tires I have ever had.

I think they are great, really good when driving on a wet road.
