It is very good that your dog is crate trained. When leaving for an extended time we find it helps to close the curtains and but the cover over the windshield. This stops visual clues that might cause the dogs to bark.
We also cut down on the heat load by hanging a quilt or sleeping bag from the over cab bunk. The blanket seals off the cab area which is not as well insulated as the rest of the RV. Makes a big difference in summer and winter when the outside temperature is extremely different than inside.
