I sold my TT on Craiglist last year; No issues and a pleasant experience.
I buy cars/motorcycles/boats/bicycles/kayaks etc on craiglist - only had one "odd" experience and probably 20 positive.
You can usually tell by the first email/text/phone call what you are dealing with. It's pretty easy to weed out the good guys from the bad;
Last year I was trying to buy a car and suggested we meet at a Home Depot lot or the Police station - the seller did not comply and insisted on meeting at his place - I did not follow through.
Yeah - you're going to meet some "interesting" people but it's no different to the old days when we hunted the newspaper classifieds.
Just let your gut guide you.
