Extended Warranties - prices all over the board

Prices are all over the board because what is covered is all over the board, and very few vendors let you have a copy of the contract before you purchase so you can take it to a lawyer who is also a mechanic to tell you what it really says.

I think the ESP from Good Sams is pretty straightforward. I've been offered service contracts/insurance that costs more and supposedly covers more, and others that cost less and cover as much or more, but I also see a lot of "outs" in lower cost policies.
