Against my better judgement we purchased one with our new DP MH. Wife put her foot down. It was 7500 for 5 years from delivery date.
A new DP has many different warranties from one year bumper to bumper to transmission and engine and drivetrain and other items as well. The Cummins engine is 5 years or 100,000.
So our extended service contract has repaired our step motor and a water tank mixing valve so far. That is it. They fight everything and make you wait for weeks for approval.
IMHO I will lose on this deal. I still have 21/2 years left. Buying new provides you many different warranties with the purchase of the rig.
A used rig - maybe, if you can get a good price.
Ouch. Thats $1500/year, and actually more than that when you consider the first year everything is covered, and the big stuff (drivetrain) is only covered for an additional 2 years over the manufacturer.
Having been married for 29 years now I know my wife is always right, but sometimes the decisions they make aren't. :B:B:B
As to the OP, I'm with the others who say put the $$$ into an account and use it to cover your repair costs. I'd bet dimes to donuts after 5 years (or whatever term you were thinking about) you'll still be $$$ ahead. Sure repairs
can be expensive, service contracts always are.
Do you want to take a chance you
might spend some big $$$ or buy a service contract and guarantee you will. :W For us that was an easy decision.
