No way I would buy it. They're just a money maker for those companys and if you skip those plans over your lifetime you will be ahead by many thousands - even if you have to pay for some repair.
However, if you do buy one keep in mind that you dont have to pay thier asking price. Offer them MUCH less and stick to your guns.
Now I know someone will chime in about how the policy paid for thousands in repairs and how glad they were to have it.
