Extended Warranty: Coachnet vs Wholesale Warranties?

Am seriously considering a switch from Good Sam extended warranty largely to get a warranty with "Consequential Coverage" (covers failure of non-covered part if damage caused by covered component). Both Coachnet (a surcharge but lower deductible and cheaper than Wholesale) and Wholesale Warranties (more expensive and much higher deductible) offer this; Good Sam does not. My coach is getting older and I'm thinking more stuff will start causing problems.

I have read a few older comments on warranty companies. These two seem to get good marks. Coachnet is pretty recent in this particular warranty area. So does any one care to share experience/recommend one or the other?

  • I have every scrap of service paperwork since we bought the MH in 2004. We've had only one chassis-related claim back in 2005 when the MH was still under factory warranty (AC failed). Otherwise a bunch of coach stuff with Good Sam. Sometimes I think our coach was the last one finished on a Friday afternoon (or perhaps Monday morning).

  • Of course I haven't read Coach Net's RV Protect contract, but overall it sounds pretty good.

I'm assuming one of your motivating factors is due to the age of your coach you could have some major problems with the engine, transmission, drive line, generator, etc.

My question is do you have complete maintenance service records as required from the date the coach was delivered? If not and you had say a major engine failure, that could give the administrator a reason not to approve the claim.
  • I never buy warrenties, some where in the fine print they don,t cover what breaks. put back the money add a little and fix it yourself.
