Extended Warranty Insurance

We purchased a 2009 Tifin Phaeton in June which had an extended warranty through September 2017. We are interested in purchasing another warranty
to cover the motorhome and would like to hear recommendations from others on warranties they have purchased and what items they would recommend to be covered .

  • Hi .. I agree WITH RK911. Put the funds aside for repairs.. I have had a extended Warrenty. For two years and turned, in two claims both were rejected. Jim2007....This is my first extended Warrenty, and will be my last..
  • We had a policy for 5 years and just got another 5 year policy. It is a Coach Net policy and we got it through TransWest North of Denver. Our last policy more than paid for itself and we wanted the peace of mind.

Did you use the policy at all during your ownership? If so, was it worth it?

I'm from the group that would not purchase a policy. They are usually so expensive that you could use that money for repairs instead of blowing it towards a policy.

If you decide to buy a policy, read it VERY carefully like mentioned above. They don't stay in business by paying out for repairs.

    Good luck,
    MM.
  • an option to an insurance policy would be to take the $ you would use to purchase the policy to start a maintenance and repair fund. add $X to that fund each month and use it for routine maintenance and repairs. we did that and it's worked out well. if you still want to buy such a policy shop very, very carefully. these policies are written in such a way to make it difficult to collect. good luck.
