Ok if you think it is something I should not do myself can you give me an idea of what you think it will cost to have it fixed. I am slightly confused. What I think I heard you say was the cord needed plugged for the generator to work...however, nothing is plugged in at all and the generator does run from the button on the drivers control panel.
