Exterior water filter leaks

Question

I have an exterior whole coach water filter. I just changed the cartridge and now there is a small leak around the top. Can I put a little Teflon tape around the threads? I had heard that Teflon shouldn’t be used on plastic threads.

Seeped water out the top and set off my water alarms I installed.  I had to get another at Home Depot.

Folks do it ll the time.Plastic threads are typically self sealing.If that exterior filter is canister type then check that o-ring is in-place and not damaged

Yes, the o ring is missing. It is  common to fall out when changing filter element. Hopefully it fell right where you changed it out.

Lost mine too. Carry an extra now. Take your canister with you to the store as I have found there are a few different sizes depending on the canister mfg.
Maybe Doug or Old-Biscuit can tell you size if you post brand of canister.
