Extra propane tank; can it be hooked up to fill port in RV?

You know, the 4-gallon propane tanks sold by Lowe's? Just wondering if there is a direct-connection using the fill port for the permanent RV tank? Or does something need to be modified in order to tem...

It should look something like this when it's installed. It's a T-fitting between the main tank on/off valve and the motorhome's appliance regulator on the right side of the pic. This was the one installed on our 2016 Sunstar. It has a brass threaded cap on it to protect the threads on the extension fitting.
