MustangGT I noticed when I made my trac bar on my Ford F-53 chassis that I could not safely attach the trac bar mount to the diff. like most did because my cover bolts were in the rear and I thought to small so I mounted off the big u-bolts holding the springs-Really holds everything tight and the steering wheel correction and movement from semi's going by are virtually gone,I find I can drive further & longer with less fatigue--My trac bar is in OEMY's file -Rich Peceniak
Hi Rich. I looked at all the styles of bars and settled on Dan Kilgore's. Mine is very similar, but with a more horizontal lay of the bar itself. I had the same first impression of the diff bolts. Mine were on the rear of the F-53 diff and they were smallish. So...I mounted the house side of the trac-bar a little further back on the frame, which required some drilling, and upgraded the diff bolts to grade 8 (gold colored). I changed the diff fluid while in there, even though it didn't need it. No problems so far.
My impression of the trac-bar's effectiveness is that it stops the sideways sway before it can get started.
