OK, took me long enough to order the parts, then had the rig out at a CG for 6 weeks so today is the first time I've had to make the change. Assembled the Helwig links, adjusted the length so that the bar would be in essentially the same position with the new links. This means the new links are a couple inches longer than the OEM Links. Why do 'AMERICAN' vehicles have to have metric bolts? Had to go buy one wrench to do the job. Not counting the trip out to get the wrench I'm in in well under to hours. Could easily do it faster next time:) I did decide to reuse the Ford bolts as they are just a hair larger, less slop in the frame and bar that way.
SO when it was all said and done, I took it out for a ride around the block. aonly a couple miles, but on county roads, so a lot of camber changes. also pulled into and out of one parking lot which normally would have that rolly whipsaw feel just to see. So does the rig still roll? Yes, but I never expected a zero roll, it rolls now maybe less than half what it did. I have to say I am very pleased, thank you all that went before me. And I am amazed that this is something we owners have to do. It would be a zero cost mod if the builder specified this from Ford.
UPDATE
Just did 500 mile weekend trip. Mostly highway, but a number of miles on country mountain roads. VERY pleasant. Roll significantly reduced. Rig still rolls of course, but doesn't keep rolling back and forth. I recommend this simple modification to anyone with a Ford chassis.
