F53 oxygen sensor

I had my check engine light come on recently and after reading the code it seems I need to change an oxygen sensor out. Seems to me that at 23K miles it's a little premature for a failure. Has anybody had this same problem on this chassis?
  • That's funny. I just had the first code on our old F53 V10 and it was fuel mixture lean bank 2. I hear it might be O2 sensor as well.
  • bank 2 running to lean is more likely to be vacume leak on drivers side of engine probley intake manifold gasket sucking air when cold
  • The reader we used showed the exact sensor giving the trouble but I don't remember which one. I believe it was a downstream sensor. I'll reread it tomarrow and let you all know.

I'll check that out next time I am at the coach. Thanks for the lead! I did notice that as I did more searching on the internet, the O2 sensor was less of a possibility.

The engine was quite warm when the code popped up. Hopefully the leak point will be evident....
  • that leak is realy not that evident its very small in my shop we use a smoke machine that when engine is off we put smoke in the intake manifold and look to see wear the smoke comes ouy
