FAIL COLORADO EMISSION TEST

Yeah I retained my address in South Dakota as Missouri is a pain the ass to deal with registration. I won't put up with it. SD is a pleasure to deal with compared with MO. I have no patience for that kind of garbage.

Only certain highly populated counties require emission testing in CO.
If your folks are going to full time maybe they could use another county as a home address or set up residency in a state like SD.

Have you changed the 02 sensor? I would almost bet that's your problem and it will have more power and better mileage after you replace it. The last one I bought for that era of GM product was only $23.

The emission test result sheet should have a detailed list of what is wrong with it. All I do is give that sheet to the mechanic.

O2 sensors and carb is usually what needs to be fixed to meet the emission standards.

Are you going to park it in a CG and 'live in it"? Because if that's the case get into a park now while the plates are still current and be done with it.

Don't see how you will be able to travel full-time if you don't have the finances now to even fix the emission problems.

You are full time so pick another state for home state with lower or no test.

NEV,Cal, ARIZ and I guess every state has emission inspections..most places in Texas don't. I have lived in NEV/CAL and the inspections are brutal...and rigged by the inspection station to get business I might add... an 88 440 or what ever it is will most likely be impossible to pass...without many parts....really no way to get around it.
AZdryheat has some good comments......I also use to pay an inspector $35.00 to tweak my MH carb and get a sticker, then go home and tune it till it ran perfect.

Look up for your state or County what the rules are. Beyond the paper they gave you. This info might even be on back of your failed test report of what to do next. My state has a program that if you fail and put some money (can't remember the $$ amount) into getting it to pass and it still fails you can present the receipts and get a waiver. The repairs are very very specific on what counts toward waiver and what doesn't and all have to be purchased after failing smog test.

I like clean air but when this whole thing started they were "just going to test what came out of tailpipe." Now they are plugging into computer and testing gas cap. Long ways from what they said.
