Fastening a cable to a roof

I bought a we boost and I have to run 20 foot of cable on the roof.Whats the best way to fasten it to roof dycor or eternal bond and do I have to totally cover it or every couple of feet thank you
  • My guideline is Dicor about every 3 feet but 1 foot spacing is good as well. However, I like a hard attachment point at each end as well. That means a wire tie and a screw with Dicor under and over for a strong hold and long life.
  • I often wondered if a Wiremould product wouldn't make a nice install. The PVC type where you fasten down the bottom then lay in the cable and snap it shut. At least you could replace the cable without tearing it apart.

Big thing I worried about was catching the cable with a low branch. Fastening every foot is a good idea.
  • A dab of Dycor every 12 " and that cable will stay where you put it. For about the next 10 years.
  • I've used both small Eternabond "straps" and dabs of Dicor on various RV's, and both hold up well. I don't like to use a complete covering with Eternabond in case the cable needs to be removed at some point.
  • I covered the entire run of cable with Eternabond tape. Even went over the spots where the cable went through the roof.
  • Dab of Dicor every couple of feet did mine for 10 years with no problems.
