Thanks for the destruco-view, I think our cargo-bottom is lower than this photo. Our under-sofa storage is open to the bay there, and I can reach down below floor level to grab stuff. Will have to look more and take a few photos.
What I'm currently considering, is keeping the footprint/lower box of the sofa; making a sittable bed/back rest at that level, and add an upper bunk bed high enough to clear sitting head but low enough for geezers to climb into.....if possible.
I just find it amazing after spending this kind of money on what seems to be a well designed camper.....the bed reallyReallyREALLY sucks!
The frame work of Donna's post is perhaps close to what I have in mind for the lower bed. I'll have to reread it a few times as it's past my nap time now.
