x2 on what Harvey51 says. Make sure the gauge (and inflator chuck, if possible) have the "forward-pointing" head in line with the stem of the chuck/valve, rather than at the same angle as the "backwoard-pointing" one, as it will make it much easier to get on the inner valve stems.
Also get some air-through valve caps. The slight extra length does help, and not having to remove them is a big big plus, as is not having unprotected valves.
If you have wheel simulators, it does make life easier to ditch them. There's nothing like covering up little hand holes with a decorative piece with even smaller hand holes.
