Finally decided

After getting plenty advice from this and other forums, I think we have finally decided to go with the Sunseeker 2650S. Mainly because it is under 30 feet and has a walk around bed that is partitioned off.

Any owners of this model out there with any advice?

I like it! The split level floor is clever. I'd like it, but there are those who don't and I'm married to one of them. Which Cabover are you getting? And Sofa or Dinette? Which A/C? I like the One-Room Bathroom vs. Split, and your kitchen area is about like ours, just on the opposite side. At 31-ft (actually 32) our floor plan allows a Sofa as well as a Dinette, but you have a Slide so the living area probably looks more spacious. You have enough Wheelbase that you should have good weight distribution and therefore decent handling on the road.
Ford is a good chassis, and the Forest River products are getting good reviews from owners on quality of construction.
    Lookin' good to me!
  • The rear island bed with access on both sides is great while keeping the length under 27 feet. No climbing over partner in the dark and much easier to "make". Can leave bed while letting partner snooze.
  • Just bought a sunseeker 2650S this past may 15, 2017. Was tough finding a new, unregistered model, since forest river stopped making this model at the end of 2016. If you own one, check the marker lights on the front cowling. there are 5 led lights across the front, one on each corner and 3 in the front middle. The three in the middle all have stress fracturing around the area the led light sits in on my model. I bought it with approximately 750 miles on it and put about 850 miles on it after purchasing. Notified the dealer, who is sending it off to their warranty administrator. Haven't heard back as to this posting date. Just curious if any one else has had same problem.

Can you post a pic of the lights in question? Are they small round ones? If so, our 2014 has different ones, it has older style ovals.
  • reply to snowman9000, my marker lights are the small round led type lights. I am happy to report that the forest river warranty dept. has said they will cover repair costs to fix cracking around lights. I need to first get our unit in to the repair shop for a technician to assess the problem. will follow up with a post as to problem.
  • Seems like most that have the step is for more storage capacity/space outside.
We are now in the looking stage for one with a walk around bed.
Since my last (3rd) back surgery I can't handle the corner bed !

I like the lay out of the 2650S other than that STEP up into the rear, I'd miss step that jar my back and drop to the floor , anybody who has any kind of back problems knows what I'm talking about...

Love the Nexus , but not the prices !
Looking at a Jayco Redhawk 23XM but looks like they discontinued that model for 2018.
Not sure why but on it the pop outs don't have toppers on them ? Thought that was a given with pop outs ?

Best of luck on whatever you wind up with !
