I looked into this as well. To add an on demand WH would require flush mounting to an external wall. The Travato's WH is purely electric with no way to exhaust combustion gases.
I'm guessing it has a very fast regen time, around 7 gallons an hour, so in 30 minutes, it would be good to go again. Definitely not on-demand, but can be "primed" by running water until the faucets are hot, using the bathroom, then hopping in the shower. I run hot water through the pipes with my 6 gallon WH, and it helps extend the shower time.
For me, the Travato's price is attractive as well as its size and usability. It may be quirky, but for one person, the bed is decent, the table can be used for a computer, the shower is fine, and the size is perfect for me. The awning is fairly easy to use.
