I spoke to someone at winnebago today who told me that the hwh does not have the engine coolant feature, and that the hot water stays hot only for a short time after you stop driving. Additionally, just idling the engine would not heat the water sufficiently. So at this point the only way to run the hwh is on shore power or using the generator. So its just a personal preference. For the way i use an RV its is a major disappointment. I would be interested to know how long it takes to run the generator and get hot water.. Someone at winnebago told me 10 minutes..I find that a bit optomistic but maybe sue can tell us her firsthand experience
