Fire Hazard Appliance Recalls UPDATED NORCOLD INFO 11-20-2010

here is what I have done.I installed a CPU style fan in the fridge vent area.It cools the unit so well that the factory overheat cooling fan never cuts in.U can actually feel the heat difference when touching the cooling unit lines using this method verses the factory fan system.Go figure why factory never thought of this

I called my local RV shop 2 weeks ago, they are still waiting for the part to come in so they can fix it.
I am tired of staying home because of no fridge. It may be ice chest time this weekend.

We had the recall done two years ago. Since then we have been told that another recall is in the works. I called Norcold and they said that they were not aware of any new recalls. We had the Thermal Cut-off switch replaced via the recall in 6/08. What else is needed We also installed a special halon Fire Suppression system in the outside fridge compartmewnt. I was told that 1800 rigs burned up because of the Norcold units.. don't know how true this number is..but I personally know of several in my area.

We bought a 93 four winds back in July and had I not have seen this post I would not know about the recall, Thank you for the post! The Four Winds is in the shop getting the gas valve replaced! Thanks again!

Just had the recall fix done yesterday on my Norcold refer. Took about an hour to change out.
Had it done at Curt's RV Repair in LaGrande, OR.

There is a new series of Cooling units on the Norcold 1200LRIM that are being recalled. I don't have the recall number because I am not where the letter was recieved, but I called Norcold and they told me where to take the coach. They changed some insulation and shield that goes around a pipe where the propane is in use. It also has a couple of wires. Don't know what they were for. Norcold paid for the labor and parts. No cost to me. Refrigerator was pulled out to make repairs. Maybe Johnny can update the latest recall or latest addition to the recall. I have the four door with ice maker 1200LRIM.

There were two that got messed up when Good Sam went to the new software.. I have fixed them.. The rest should have worked for you...
