The RV "fireplace" is a huge waste of space. I'd rather have the cabinet space and use a small 1500 Watt quartz heater when we need it. the small heater can be moved to other areas of the Rv whereas the "fireplace" is stuck in one location.
Additionally the quartz heater cost much less than a "fireplace".
But it is your money to spend as you wish. We had the one in our trailer removed and the dealer installed doors for the cabinet.
