Our fireplace keeps us comfortable down to freezing temps. Using the furnace and fireplace together works well too and we use less propane. I thought the fireplace was a foolish worthless feature when I first saw them but I was wrong.
Me too, and I now regret not getting one as there isn't room to install. I bought a stand-alone and it is great for taking the edge off those chilly mornings without turning on the furnace.

JMO but the fireplace is a waste of cubic space. Fake fire??? Really??? Had one in first trailer. It rattled. Currently only have the heater part. The cubic space that the fireplace would occupy is a very roomy cupboard that houses things like the coffeemaker & toaster oven.
Our fireplace sits in front of the subwoofer for our TV, so the space isn't wasted. We have enough pantry and cabinets to hold all our stuff and then some.- VeebyesExplorer IIJMO but the fireplace is a waste of cubic space. Fake fire??? Really??? Had one in first trailer. - GregKExplorerWe love ours, and like others have posted it came with, we didn't order it.
It heats the entire trailer, we put the ceiling fan on low to move the air around and it works great.
I did initially think the same as others, that it was weird and a waste of space but now I'm glad it's in there. - Dutch___DiExplorerWe would never be without ours. Dutch installed one in our Carriage years ago. Very quiet and efficient for those cold mornings or evenings. It if is really cold, we close the door to our bedroom and the heat from the fireplace travels to the door then back giving us lovely warmth. I also enjoy just looking at the fire. Hugs, Di

Come on Bumpy...I watch TV programs on my TV...I don't watch a "crackling fire" and listen to Christmas carols unless it's Thanksgiving to Christmas....We get it, you don't like them...I have two 1500 watt ceramic heaters that I paid about $15 each for, but they don't do what the fireplace does. ..you don't like them, they're a waste, they're a joke, but it appears the MAJORITY in here LIKE them....So now that we understand you have $17 ceramic heaters, can the rest of us, and it appears MOST of the posters, talk about WHY we like them:
I think a lot of the "like" is because people spent $500 as an option for them and have to like them. I can see taking up the room in a 38 ft RV if desired but not in a small unit.

We love ours too for all the same reasons and because we don't pay for electricity.
Those who prefer the extra storage space instead of a fireplace now have a place to store their space heaters.
Win-win.
There is a lot of storage space in the space left without a fireplace. Since we live in ours at least 250 days a year and 6 months straight we use a lot of storage space. we had a tower type rotating electric heater in the 06 Montana 3400 that would sit in the rear of the 5th wheel and it did a better job of heating the Rv than the fireplace does. One of the reasons we decided to go with the fireplace was we got tired of that tower heater being in the way or taking up closet space. Everything is a trade off when utilizing space. We are really not in cool weather all that much which was the plan but the fireplace is handy to take the chill off in the Morning. Since the furnace heats up the entire 5th wheel we prefer the furnace for heating. We do not use that very often either. Our Electric bill is the highest because of using the A/C. My guess is that our fireplace ran maybe 5 or 6 hours in the 6 months of "winter" in Flor ida.
Different application altogether when almost or fulltiming, and/or not living or camping where it's cold...I would understand why one wouldn't need it in Florida...If I removed my fireplace, it would allow enough room for two good size drawers...nor much space to make a difference for me as far as full timing or just going camping. And my winters are spent camping in WV, TN, NC, VA...so, it will get cold and I will take the heat over two drawers any time...If I'm ever camping where it's not cold and I have no room except to add two more drawers than at that time I've probably overloaded my 5er and two drawers really isn't going to help me that much.......guess I'll have to buy a bigger 5er....(yeah, it'll have an electric fireplace in it also):) - richfaaExplorer

We've ended up loving it. Down to the 30's, keeps the trailer comfortable (on campground electricity)!
Hate using the furnace, the cycling on/off is annoying so, thumbs up for the fireplace. Probably wouldn't pay for one cause a small cheap electric heater would do the same thing for less weight/space.
