First RV trip - clueless

Hello, we are planning a road trip during March from south Texas to New Mexico for some possible snow activities. We are completely new to RV driving but my husband is a driving so we are hoping this will be fairly normal for him.
But... we don't have a clue on what to expect when driving to through NM. Can anyone give us some advice. Are there any RV parks available during the March time frame? Is driving in that area to and from an RV park to a ski resort something that is reasonable.

Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated. We really want this to be a fun trip where we can site see, have some fun in the snow, and relax. Is this possible in an RV during March?

    You will be just fine. Roads are very good and many RV parks etc. no different from other states.
    I'm in NM a lot.

    Near Winslow, AZ, is Meteor Crater. There is a RV park right there off of I-40 and only about 5 or 6 miles from the park to the Crater. Really neat to see.

    You don't say what type of RV you have but the Grand Canyon is also nearby. You can park in Williams, AZ, and take the train to the Grand Canyon (fun ride).

    Honestly, I'm not familiar with the ski resorts. New Mexico is a beautiful State.

    Loads of RV parks here. Use the RV parky app or the Good Sam planning map.

    Where are you planning to ski in New Mexico? Red River, Taos, Santa Fe? I-25 passes close to each one. Check snow conditions at the ski areas before leaving.

    For Santa Fe, Santa Fe Skies RV will be open. We also stayed in northern Albuquerque and just drove the car to Santa Fe for skiing a day trip. Good luck!

    Thank you all for the information! We are planning on Red River resort and then will make our way to the Grand Canyon so the train ride mentioned would be awesome for the kids! Thank you for that tip @Mr. Mark.

    So I have looked up a lot of RV parks but they all say open from May-Oct. Does that mean we are unable to park there in March? Sorry if this is a stupid question. We are kinda lost.
    We won't have a car and were planning on using the RV is this not a good idea? Should we consider taking our SUV on the trip? If we don't can we drive the RV to the ski areas?

    So glad I found this site! Thank you all for your help!

    Please don't take this as snarky, but the above highlighted areas give some insight as to what you're trying to accomplish. Given the first two, IMO,the third is only a remote possibility....BOL....Dennis

    Thank you Dennis and yes we are very green to this but figured we have to start somewhere. I will certainly think of this when planning our trip. Just hoping we can make the most of it our first time around. Hopefully it will go well.

    Since you are going into freezing weather, what are you doing about your water systems?

    You didn't say what route you are taking but if you take I10 do NOT stay at a campground called Western Sky's RV Park in Vado at exit 155. It is just north of El Paso
    All the front sites had the 50 and 30 amp circuit breakers bypassed.

    Plus there are cows near there...we never saw as many house flies in our life and a bunch got in the coach overnight.

    We've hit 48 states and this place is at the top of our stay away list.

    The Vado Texaco gas station across from the campground was pumping a gallon of gas in five minutes. I don't know what was wrong but it took forever to fill my tank. There were NO happy customers there.
