Over the last 12 years we've taken RV vacations. First it was 2 weeks, then a month, then 6 weeks, then 3 months but this year is the first year both the DW and I have no strings….I lost my parents last October and January (good long life at 98 & 88) wife's parents passed a few years back and no kids. We looked at each other and said "what are we waiting for" so we decided to leave northern michigan on October 10 and come back in May (if the snow is gone)….LOL Plans are to meander down to Tennessee for the fall colors, over to Hilton Head, then on to Florida at various destination from St. Augustine to Orlando, to Naples, to Miami and down to the keys. We're both excited but a bit anxious thinking about living in the coach for that long. We've talked about being road warriors for years and the time is finally here…..Safe travels to all and if you live in the north……word is this winter is going to be as bad or worse than last year…timing couldn't be better.

We were FORCED to get a new health care plan last year because I've always been self employed so we opted for the multi-state silver plan from BCBS. Works pretty much anywhere BUT don't get me going about Obamacare…..what happened to my premiums and deductibles makes me sick!

We're not taking any chances after last year when we pulled out on Christmas Eve with over 3 feet of snow. I've had to turn on the aqua hot in the coach the last few nights while it sits in the pole barn.

Exactly….that and the fact that it has already gotten below freezing up north here in OCTOBER!!!! We're not taking any chances after last year when we pulled out on Christmas Eve with over 3 feet of snow. Well JT we are not far behind you. We will be leaving about mid Nov and not planning on returning until end of May ourselves. This will be our first long term travel and winter away from home as the DW just retired about 7 weeks ago. We plan on traveling to Florida first, visiting our son stationed in Pensacola Navy base then on down to in laws for the holidays where our two kids will join us. After that heading out west to the desert for a while then on to San Diego and up to Carmel to visit friends and family. Finally ending up in Moab for some fun. First time in a long time that we have no time frame on our plans or destinations, just gonna do as we please enjoying our time together. On the way home stopping in Iowa for our daughters graduation from grad school We are so excited we can hardly stand it. Go and enjoy it and build some great memories. That's what were planning on doing. Safe travels!!

We're basically in the same boat, but DW will have medical coverage from her job. We'll still have to pay, but the coverage is pretty good. We need to pick a domicile and then when the time comes we'll be off....Good Luck and enjoy your WARM winter.

When you have the same WX patterns in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans as last year... It does not take much education to think the WX this winter might be much like last winter. If undecided about where to go, CA may have the warmest WX this winter. Sorry I,m on a IPad so you can do a search for more detailes that I posted last week.

Went to Land Between the Lakes last weekend, up on Kentucky-Ill border. Leaves were just beginning to color good. Back home this week in W Tennessee, Colors starting good, lots of leaves falling, estimate peak next week.
