This is what we did in our Southwind with dash mounted TV. Store the TV between the bed and wall when traveling.

We have a 1998 Pace Arrow that came with the same TV platform and the obsolete tube TV. We decided to remove the entire system and replace it with a flat dash with a drawer and storage in the space beneath. Removing the metal support brackets took some time using a Sawsall and a hacksaw. Once they were out of the way, I installed drawer glides and a cabinet face. There was enough slack in the heater and defroster hose ducts to move them out of harm's way. Some lauan plywood covered the rounded opening on the driver's instrument cowl and a piece of 3/4" plywood topped the opening to make a flat dash. A trip to the fabric store found vinyl sheeting that is close to the color and texture of the original dash. I glued and stapled to the plywood. The dash top friction fits in place. It is easily removable for inside access to the dash if needed. A small drawer, drawer pull, and a cubby hole beneath the drawer completed the job. Gone now is the constant squeaking of the old TV mount, and the view from the front seats is better. We bought a 32" LCD TV that we slide behind the couch (upside down) when not in use. We now have the option to set the TV up opposite the couch, or on the now bigger dash. No more viewing the TV sideways from the couch! I'm sorry that I can't include a picture now, as our RV is in storage. Getting rid of the front TV has worked out great for us. It's no hassle to set up the TV when we want to watch it. I recommend that you consider removing the whole, squeaky, ugly old TV thing! Good luck as you consider your options.
